Tuning In: Curry favour at the kiosk

PENNINGTON Crime Watch will hold its  annual general meeting at the Pennington Methodist Church this Wednesday, May at 5.30pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend – the more people present at the meeting, the more comprehensive the feedback about  Pennington Community Watch activities and success stories. A curry evening is being held at the Impithi Kiosk, Pennington on Friday, May 17 from 5.30pm to 8pm.

The cost is R70 per person for beef curry and rice, with a vegetarian option available  if pre-booked. Bookings essential before Thursday, May 16 at 084-0816990 or 082-5144441.

The Pennington Conservancy has advised that Illovo will be carrying out flood damage repairs at the dam wall and on the lower sections of the pipeline and supports.

Work is expected to last about a month and it is suggested that hikers stay off the pipeline side of the bank for the time being.

The  Umkomaas Performing Arts Company (UMPAC)’s show for 2019 is called Culinary Capers. Please note the show dates: evenings – Friday, June 28; Saturday June 29; Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6,with a  Sunday matinee on June 30. Bookings will open soon. Watch this space.
