The dumping in Southport is a great concern.
Over the past few months a ‘scavenger gang’ has been illegally dumping rubbish left out for municipal collection on Wednesdays.

The gang is highly organised and know the exact time that the collection truck will arrive.
They rip the black bags open, take what they want and dump the rest in the surrounding bush.
After complaining to Law Enforcement, they sent Sergeant Kisten Moodley and we arranged that I would signal him when I saw the gang arrive.
Last Wednesday I alerted Sgt Moodley and he charged four of the gang members.
This action will continue until this behaviour is eradicated.
We all understand poverty can be an issue, but at least they should close the bags after taking what they want and not dump the rubbish in the bushes.
