OPINION: ‘Are water restrictions still in effect?’

If I use my hosepipe to water seedlings, plants or wash my car, I will be arrested and put in jail.

DEAR Editor,-

With regards to water outages on the South Coast, there are rumours that the three pumps that supply Port Edward to Southbroom at Umtamvuna are working again.

It appears that, and people in ‘authority’ say that the crisis is over.

However, Ugu have not lifted water restrictions, so if I use my hosepipe to water seedlings, plants or wash my car, I will be arrested and put in jail.

The DA councillor says he can get no response from Ray Nkonyeni or Ugu municipalities regarding the status of restrictions.

Are the restrictions still in effect or not?
