My Take: Trump my China, what would you do?

All that was required was my 'yes' or 'no'. I jolted awake at the prospect of such a decision.

LIFE is full of decisions, most are easy to make.

They tend to get a little harder though, when your decisions have major consequences on other people, which is why I am now a bit more careful about what I eat before I go to bed.

In a recent dream I had I arrived at a huge hall, like one in an enormous Russian building.

The hall was packed and a table awaited me. Everyone appeared anxious.

I was wearing smart pants, a formal t-shirt (if there is such a thing) and a suede jacket with patches at the elbow.I don’t have a jacket like that so not sure how it got into the dream.

A nervous looking aide arrived with a silver tray with a white envelope on it.

“The committee has made its decision Mr President,” he said.

Yes, in my dream I was president of the United States.

I opened the envelope. It read: The committee is in agreement to drop a nuclear bomb on China.

All that was required was my ‘yes’ or ‘no’. I jolted awake at the prospect of such a decision.

The dream had been quite real, so I was massively relieved to be back in the present, in South Africa, far away from the States and China.

On a more serious note, we may think we have big problems in SA (and yes, we do) but tensions appear to be developing between the US and China, with Cellphone-gate just an example of the ‘pushing and shoving’ that’s going on as the two wrestle for global supremacy.

I wondered if the fact that I have a Huawei phone had anything to do with the dream. Is Beijing spying on me?

No, it was most likely too much pizza, and as a colleague reassured me, I was in no danger on being president.

“You aren’t orange enough, sorry,” she said.
