DEAR Editor,-
We had a most unpleasant experience with a young beggar on Tuesday (July 2) at the Port Shepstone traffic lights.
While waiting for the lights to change, we were approached by this youth asking for money.

When we refused, he started swearing and hurling racial slurs and insults at my wife and I.
We were given the impression that this issue had been dealt with by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Law Enforcement, SAPS, or whoever is responsible for dealing with motorists being harassed by begging individuals at traffic lights.
It doesn’t make the shopping experience pleasant, as it should be.
This situation will escalate in the future and will become uglier than it is.
And the adjacent shopping centre will lose business because of it.
