DEAR Editor,-
Immediately after the floods in April, a broken water pipe was discovered on the verge of my property.
We called Ugu and they responded on the same day.

After being shown exactly where the pipe was leaking, the workers who arrived on site mostly after 6pm, set about entirely destroying everything on the verge.
It became a disaster site.
After my Eskom cable was damaged and left us with no power, I decided something had to be done.
I went to the Ugu office in Oslo Beach, who subsequently sent me to the office in Port Shepstone.
Two wonderful women assisted me and from then on in, things got sorted out.

Ugu sent people from various departments, including a chap from the Operations and Maintenance team, who was extremely efficient and friendly.
He patiently answered all my queries and was ready to assist.
Yes, of course I would have preferred not to have had the hassle, but it was a huge relief to see that as bad as some workers at Ugu can be, there are those who really do their best and try to get things done.
