OPINION: ‘Crime is out of control’

It may be easier for some to turn to a life of crime than to be part of the struggle.

DEAR Editor:

What has happened to humanity? Not a day goes by without me hearing something crime-related. If it’s not a housebreaking, it’s rape. If it’s not rape, it’s murder. It just does not end!

I am appalled at the amount of crime which has been happening on the South Coast for quite some time now. The recent murder of an elderly couple in our area was just shocking.

It’s beyond sick that people would go so far as taking someone’s life because they wanted to take their belongings.

I’d like to thank our police for arresting the murderer so fast and not allowing another sick criminal to roam freely in society.

I want to also thank all authorities for trying their best to curb crime, but there is no way that crime will ever cease to exist mainly because of the rate of unemployment in our country and because the cost of living is constantly becoming higher.

It may be easier for some to turn to a life of crime than to be part of the struggle.

S VARDEN
