A FRIENDLY reminder to all not to forget the Walk For Values this Sunday, September 1.
This is going to be hosted by the Park Rynie Sai Centre and people of all faiths are welcome to join.
In case you missed the breakdown last week, the walk will begin at Park Rynie beach.

Registration is at 9am and walking will commence at about 9.30am. Do not forget to wear white and remember, all devotees are asked to come with their banners and posters.

For those of you who visit the local beaches in the evenings, do be careful once it gets a little dark because there are times where the lights at the beach go out and there’s total darkness such as at Preston beach and Rocky Bay.
It is not safe to park there when this happens – especially since crime has been reportedly high in the area.
On another note, it appears as though the municipality has been doing lots of road repairs lately and are still in the process of doing so.
Some of the roads in particular that must be put in the spotlight are those throughout Preston. There are a number of potholes spread throughout that area.
A section of road on Gardner Street was damaged by bad weather earlier this year and it received some attention some time ago.
The one lane was blocked but the structure that was used to barricade that lane has now fallen over and is still left in that position for weeks now.
The actual section of road is not as bad as it was initially after some work had been done there, but I think the ‘big yellow object’ as some refer to it, seems to be causing more of an obstruction now.
