Further to Octogenarian’s letter last week, I was recently parked at a petrol station in Glenmore when a man approached the car and spoke to me in Afrikaans.
I said I didn’t understand so he then said in English that I had a nice car but that there were chips in the windscreen and that he could fix them in five minutes.

I told him I was too busy.
The petrol attendant then returned with my receipt and newspaper and the man walked away.
On arriving home, I checked my windscreen and there was nothing wrong with it.
Later, I was reading the Herald and saw the letter.
I then realised that this was obviously the same man who had conned that elderly woman in Port Edward.
It is despicable, especially that he also took advantage of her honest nature. Stay vigilant!
