OPINION: ‘Thank you for the support’ says rescue organisation

The organisation thanks everybody for their continued support, especially throughout these trying times.

Dear Editor

With the year 2020 coming to a close and entering the last month, we at 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue have taken stock of the year gone past and let out a sigh of relief.

As for just about everyone else, this year has been a doozy.

We saw an influx of new animals into the area we work in, bringing with them humans who don’t know the area, who are as shocked as everyone else, jobless, penniless and hopeless.

This, under normal circumstances, speaks of danger for the animals, but 2020 was even worse.

During lockdown, myself and the committee made the difficult decision to re-locate our Amanzimtoti shop to Scottburgh.

This involved hours of packing and moving for which I must say a very public and special thanks to Lorraine Brown, Portia Booyens and Jacqueline Smith for all the hard work they put in to moving and setting up our beautiful shop in Scottburgh.

Thank you to all our loyal supporters who have donated the most amazing stuff for us to sell.

Your generosity just does not end and you make it possible for us to carry on when so many other rescue groups are facing closure.

Thanks to those folks that support our shop by doing their shopping there.

Thank you to our volunteers, you work tirelessly and you are our backbone.

2021 holds for us a new beginning as we have at last found our rescue haven and we moved home, dogs and cats there in July this year.

This is a dream that has taken years to come to fruition and we thank our Lord Jesus for making all this possible.

We wish you all a wonderful Christmas and the most amazing and financially stable new year.
