DEAR Editor;
I would like to comment on last week’s ‘In My View‘ article by journalist Jenni Bipat.
Thank you for your engaging post regarding what seems to be the lost art of letter writing, particularly among the younger generation.
I share your sentiments but would like to tell you about a group of humble letter-writers, both old and young, here on the South Coast and worldwide.
We are more commonly known for personal house-to-house visits and comprise over 8.5 million members.
We are Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Since Covid-19, we have been using alternative methods for teaching and preaching, such as letter-writing, telephone, email and WhatApp. Our website is www.jw.org .
We are ordinary citizens who try to obey the laws of the land as well as God’s laws found in the Bible.
We take God’s law of loving our neighbours very seriously, and would not want to risk passing on the virus by visiting in person.
We also show love by educating people about God’s Kingdom, which will bring lasting solutions to all mankind’s problems such as crime, sickness, homelessness and even death. (Matthew 6:9, 10)
Perhaps you may receive a hand-written letter, a call, or text message from one of us.
Please forgive us for not being perfect scribes, but remember that we do what we do because we love you.
