DEAR Editor;
On a certain day last week, at 8.50pm my wife and I received SMSes to report to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital for our Covid-19 vaccinations the next day, at 8am and 10am respectively.
We arrived at 8am and were told that the hospital vaccinations were for healthcare workers and we being over 60-years-old should go to the Port Shepstone Civic Centre. On arrival there, we were given a friendly brief on the procedures to follow.
The health care people guided us through the registering and screening with our IDs using the musical chairs queue system.
After about 200 people had been vaccinated at five screened stations, we were given our documents after one-and-a-half-hours and told to return in six weeks for the second dose.
We arrived at the same time (and had different times originally allocated), but were allowed to go through the process together and with amiable treatment by friendly healthcare staff and I heard no complaints, only smiles.
