In my view: Annoying caller refused to identify himself

And then become demanding and ask me to phone him back because he needs to speak to me.

Just a quick question. How does it feel when someone phones you on your personal cellphone after working hours asking you to phone him back?

Strange and very annoying if you ask me. Because in my line of work I understand when people sometimes call me on my cellphone. It doesn’t always sit well with me, but hey there is nothing much I can do.

But it gets really upsetting when I receive a phone call from an unknown man at night refusing to give me his name and where he got my cell number. Then he tells me he cannot or rather he will not tell me where he got my number from.

And then become demanding and ask me to phone him back because he needs to speak to me.

So this guy phones me and he totally refuses to tell me who he is, where he is from and how he got my number.

I ask him what it is about, he replies “you will hear when you phone me back.”

Aibo! What on earth, by this time in the back of my mind I am swearing him and tempted to drop the call, then block his number.

But I am more upset with the person who thought it was okay to give my number to a total stranger and not even ask for my permission or at least let me know that I will be getting a call.

I really feel that if I am giving out someone’s number I should ask the person first or at least let her/him know.

I was really upset. I could not be bothered by a person who phones me at night not knowing what he wants. But just a piece of friendly advice to everyone out there, please do not give out a person’s number without their permission, unless you are a ward councillor (I wish I could insert an emoji here).

I plead with everyone out there to please be considerate of us (media), we also have lives and deserve a little privacy.

On the other hand, has the president’s iPad really gone missing? Did it really grow legs and walk away from him?

Cyril Ramaphosa is making headlines and trending on social media. Shame I feel bad for him but that voice he used when standing at the podium asking where his iPad was, was priceless.

I can already see my fellow South Africans making memes and Tik Tok videos.
