OPINION: ‘Troubled times for Umbango bridge’

The temporary fix is inadequate for this main arterial road. No official or politician has been of assistance.

DEAR Editor;

The Umbango bridge was damaged in the last heavy rains, as can be seen in the picture yet nothing has been done to repair it.

It is at the entry of Crescent Street.

The Umbango bridge is in need of repair.

Sewerage is flowing into the river, and the stench, with the stagnant water, unbearable.

The temporary fix is inadequate for this main arterial road. No official or politician has been of assistance.

With the impending rainy season we expect even greater damage. Is there any plan or budget to correct this?
