OPINION: ‘Column addresses core societal maladies’

It would have been a great travesty of justice if one were not to have made the follow-up to what I saw and read in the newspaper – a pleasant surprise par excellence.

DEAR Editor;

It’s been a while since I did an intensive perusal of our local publication – the South Coast Herald.

Instinct propelled me to do it recently, and the rest constitutes a splendid story which further propelled me to write this message.

It would have been a great travesty of justice if one were not to have made the follow-up to what I saw and read in the newspaper – a pleasant surprise par excellence.

The cherry on top was the compliment on the letters page relating to an article penned by Tebuho Zongwana in an earlier edition of the newspaper.

To say that was sweet music to my ears would be an understatement, which is allowed because I’m ‘tongue-tied’, in a pleasant way.

Albeit I didn’t see the article the compliment was based on, but the one I read, ‘Cut off things that hinder you’ is classic enough to provide evidence of indisputably high quality writing.

It’s relevant to the attitudinal issues people are grappling with everyday, it addresses the core societal maladies that afflict families, friends and associates, it does everything to ring alarm bells to the effect that we need to reconsider our wayward thought systems about one another, it does far more than all what I suggest herein.

I’m ecstatic and allow me to say the sky, and not the roof, is the limit for Tebuho. And maybe I can suggest without any fear of contradiction that far beyond the visible sky, things still do happen. You have my congratulations and best wishes going forward.

May God bless and keep you.
