OPINION: ‘Avid reader enjoys fiction and non-fiction’

In fiction I read suspense and detective and murder, and non fiction I read biographies and books on ballet and the environment.

DEAR Editor;

I loved the Herald’s recent blog on books.

It is exactly how I feel. I grew up in the 1940s and 1950s, with a mother who read to us, and then I always received a book at Christmas.

Then, I studied library science and worked for City Libraries, and I always have one fiction and one non-fiction book on the go.

In fiction I read suspense and detective and murder, and non fiction I read biographies and books on ballet and the environment.

Wish that we could get children to read!
