OPINION: Thank you RNM for assisting in fixing our road at Stick Farm

It's always better to aim for a win-win solution.

For many years Stick Farm roads have been subjected to poor maintenance due to budget cuts.

One needs to understand that floods and heavy duty trucks transporting river sand and plaster sand also cause much damage.

Poor road conditions can lead to more than just a bumpy ride.

Roads can deteriorate to the level where they become dangerous.

This includes potholes, uneven road surfaces, sinkholes and road cracks.

If a driver hits a large pothole, it could cause the tyre to burst.

Uneven road surfaces can cause a driver to lose control of their vehicle, leading to a crash or rollover.

Dangerous road condition accidents can lead to serious, life-threatening injuries.

School teachers who often traverse the Stick Farm roads on their way to work at Woodgrange Primary school have lodged many complaints.

A local resident said “it is about time someone does something here, roads must be fixed, we use these roads daily. I thought Stick Farm was forgotten about but our son Shaik is giving us hope, well done my boy”.

I have worked together with staff at Ray Nkonyeni Municipality and other departments in finding solutions to the problems.

On behalf of the residents of Stick Farm, I wish to record my gratitude to RNM for attending to the roads.

We are safer with good roads.
