It’s already the first issue for September – does this mean spring and summer are on the way? The cold is awful. My opinion.
Monkeys are always a hot topic. Silvano Borea of Pennington sent this in, as way of a reminder. “A paintball gun is an airgun. An airgun is not defined as a firearm in the Firearms Control Act. In terms of section 120 of the FCA, discharging an airgun in a built-up area is an offence. The feeding of wild animals is only prohibited in designated nature parks, reserves, etc. One requires a permit to kill damage-causing wild animals. Damage-causing wild animals should be reported to Department of Environmental. You may defend yourself and your pets against any immediate and actual threat.”
Pennington Community Watch (PCW) advises residents to always keep external security doors/gates locked to deter a home invasion, even when you’re home. Such invasions have occurred in Pennington before. This crime prevention measure will also keep monkeys out.

A monthly market is being started at Pennington’s Relton Hall from October 1, 09:00 to 13:00.
It will run on the first Saturday of each month. The aim is to give the local community – crafters, artists and farmers, an opportunity to earn money while at the same time raising funds for Relton Hall’s roof.
It is also to increase Pennington Recreation Club membership and raise awareness of what the hall offers. There are still areas open for vendors.
