OPINION: ‘State of repairs leaves me feeling sad’

More should be done to ensure whoever does the work, does it properly.

I drive the road between South Coast Herald offices and the back of KFC to the back end of the Oribi Plaza to park every day.

I must say driving past this scene makes one sad.

My mind says to me ‘why do we tolerate this?’

It is becoming an increasing challenge, the deterioration of this community seems to be happening more regularly.

The photos depict a very much below standard state of repairs that we now are expected to accept.

Repair work left in a mess.

What is so difficult to finish the job as it should be?

When the rains come this will become a huge mess, never mind a danger zone for pedestrians in the day or night.

It just speaks to us all being tolerant, not holding the contractor (whoever it may be) to account.
