OPINION: Did you ever wonder why?

Dear editor:

Ever noticed how one will get a quote before having a car or house repair, but one enters medical procedures on the promise that medical aid will pay in total with no idea of the total bill?

Ever been blind-sided by the food contents not fully occupying the space provided in the packet or box?

Ever noticed how the ordered item of food, be it a fish fillet, meat dish or hamburger, does not necessarily bear 100% resemblance to the picture in the menu?

The menu is usually spirited away before your food is served so as to avoid a comparison being drawn or is this purely coincidental?

Ever noticed how the phrase ‘no good turn goes unpunished’ can come back to bite one in the posterior?

Although being a kindly soul, I do tend to turn the blind eye as Nelson did when asked if he had read the signal flags to withdraw, and perform the act of kindness anyway.

My sentiment is that when I am in need, a like-minded soul will step forward and give me assistance.

Imagine what a cold world it would be if one did not feel disposed to helping others in need.

Ever seen how in the supermarket all the nice, sweetie stuff and tiny toys are at the till queue point and are accessible to even the children.

Ever noticed how the breads and milks and cool drinks are generally situated at the back of the store? Reason being that en route to pay, one might scoop something else to put in the basket.

Ever wondered why sometimes in supermarkets tinned foods that should be grouped together are not?

Coffee is not necessarily near the box milk nor near the sugar. Bread is not near the jam and margarine, but this is not always the case.
