OPINION: Scottburgh experiences dry and hot February

The last time Scottburgh had a wet February was in 2020.

After a wet January, February in Scottburgh appears to have been unusually dry and exceptionally hot.

That is indeed the case: February is statistically a very dry month, although an exception was 2020.

The rainfall figures in Scottburgh for February were as follows: 7th – 10,5mm; 8th – 37mm; 10th – 1mm; 11th – 30mm; 12th – 14mm; 16th – 1,5mm; 18th – 10mm; 26th – 2mm; 28th – 2mm. The total rainfall for the month was 108mm.

Previous year’s rainfall for February: 2022 – 123mm; 2021 – 124mm; 2020 – 186mm; 2019 – 103,5mm; 2018 – 76,5mm.
