The container at TC Robertson Nature Reserve in Scottburgh was broken into recently.
Every Wednesday, funds are raised at the nature reserve by selling second-hand books, tea, coffee and eats. So much effort has gone into acquiring these items and now everything is gone.
The municipality hardly contributes to the upkeep of this beautiful area. It’s only maintained because of the people that support the book sales and teas. Items stolen include brushcutters, chainsaws, angle grinders and various power tools.
Please be on the lookout for people selling these items. Contact Keith Layfield, the park manager on 074 7920605 if you see anything. The electricity box was stolen too.
Work is finally being done on the Umkomaas bridge on the R102. This wash away was during the floods and it is encouraging to see the repairs.

Congratulations to Tandazile Sijendu for receiving an award from Pick n Pay at the mall. The award read: “You’re an inspiration! It’s employees like you that breathe new life into Pick n Pay.” Well done!

There is a market this Sunday (19th) at the Doghouse, Pennington. This is going to prove to be most exciting with loads of new stallholders.
Elders Voice is appealing for help. “Our old people will be left vulnerable and without any care on March 20. We were informed by the union that our carers have joined. We are desperate for volunteers on this day and will need 15 day time volunteers and seven evening volunteers. If you can help in any way, please contact us on 079 0286379. We are appalled that as essential workers they are okay to participate in this.”

There will be an e-waste collector today (Wednesday) between 09:00 and 10:00 at the recycling drop off at Relton Hall, Pennington. Items to be included: Any household appliance that worked from a power outlet or battery; anything with a circuit board i.e. computer equipment, printers, sound or TV, cellphones, etc.
