BRONWYN TANNER: Tuning In – Walk to create awareness on childhood cancer

Support the Big Walk for Little Warriors at Rocky Bay on Saturday, February 24. There is a warm up by Just Move (can you do the Superman dance?) at 07:45 and the walk starts at 08:00.

Dress up as a superhero – there will be a best dressed prize. Colour powder will be on sale, in case, you’d prefer to decorate yourself that way! This is an awareness walk for childhood cancer, a worthy cause to be supported.

A flea market will be held at 24 Barrow Street in Umkomaas on Saturday, February 24 from 08:00 to 14:00. For further information contact 060 8434294.

Good news – TC Robertson Nature Reserve re-opens to the public on Friday, March 1. Visitors can enjoy picnics, bird watching, braai facilities and walking trails. It also serves as a function venue (bookings essential). The Mongoose Tea Garden and book sales are also back every Wednesday. For further information contact 082 6227699.

A Holistic and Spiritual Fair is being held at the Amanzimtoti Civic Centre Supper Room on Saturday, March 2 from 10:00 to 15:30. There will be lots of stalls, refreshments and food on sale. Free yoga demonstration, somatic healing dance, clairvoyants, reiki healing and much more. Contact 083 6545261.

* March 30: Scottburgh Easter Evening Market from 14:00 at Marine Terrace together with the Easter Run of 10km. There will be live music with plenty of stalls, a motorbike display and a kiddies zone.
* June 28: Sardine Run Beach Market at Scottburgh beach from 17:00 together with the Anglin Fishing Competition from sunrise to sunset from June 28 to July 3 from Scottburgh to Rocky Bay.
* September 21: Scottburgh Spring Market at Marine Terrace from 14:00 together with the Spring Run of 10km.
* December 22: Scottburgh Mardi Gras in Scott Street from 09:00.
