It’s the start of the school holidays. Welcome to the visitors to our piece of paradise.
Congratulations to kickboxers Astrid Hillerman, Africa Mngadi and Nicole Alves. All three returned with gold and qualification for SA champs in April.
The community members who travel on the R102, between Pennington and Park Rynie, have been concerned about the state of the bushes alongside the road. Already, three pedestrians have been knocked down.
Niekie van den Berg and the TLB from PNG Construction have been busy clearing the bush back, making the road safer. A big thank you for this dedicated work. PNG pays the staff overtime for work done on the weekends, their loyalty to the community is immense.
Friendly reminder: Drivers are needed for this year’s Sani2c. The trail starts on Tuesday, April 23 and ends on Thursday, April 25 at the Scottburgh Golf Course, and the main event starts on Thursday, April 25 and ends on Saturday, April 27, also at the golf course.
People are needed to drive competitors’ cars back to Scottburgh High School. Transport is provided from Widenham and/or Scottburgh to Underberg each day. Drivers must have a valid licence, be over 25 years old and have been driving for more than three years. For each car moved, various organisations involved receive a monetary pay out, which goes towards their fundraising activities. Call 082 8973511.
