On behalf of the community of Port Shepstone, I want to thank your newspaper for highlighting what is a very sensitive issue in our communities.
We are proud of Selvan Chetty of the ANC and Moosa Docrat for taking a strong stand against the developer for the destruction of graves.
Our graves are sacred grounds and our people will fight to ensure that our dearly departed are not disturbed in their final resting place.
The Hindu, Muslim and Christian communities will rally behind Chetty and Docrat to protect the graves.
We thank the municipality and the AMAFA for their prompt action in averting what could have been a very volatile and tense situation leading to violence and work stoppage at the much-needed economic centre of Port Shepstone.
Once again, we pray that Almighty grants Chetty and Docrat all the strength and courage they need to see this matter through to its conclusion.
