The moon shone down in all her splendour at the official opening of the Umdoni Point Sports & Leisure Centre last Friday night.

Invitees were astounded at the amazing facilities on offer, such as bowling greens, pickleball courts, a gym, a swimming pool, a fine dining restaurant, and so much more.

The Mayor, Mbali Cele-Luthuli, dressed in a beautiful black and silver dress, did the official ribbon cutting and was pleased that the local community now has such a facility.

Paul Tedder, along with his dedicated team comprising of Gina Tedder, Sean Willis and Nico Smith, have worked tirelessly with an array of talented professionals to create a haven of leisure and enjoyment for residents and visitors alike.

The celebrations continued into Saturday, offering guests the opportunity to experience all the facilities free of charge.

Congratulations to Stacy-Lee Hooper, who swam the Polar Bear Swim Challenge in the Drakensberg last Saturday. She said it was cold, with temperatures between 7°C and 11°C.

* The NG Kerk is holding its annual bazaar this Saturday (29th) from 07:00.

* The Sanctuary of the Great White Light, 9 Barrow Street, Umkomaas, will be hosting a pendulum workshop this Sunday (30th) from 14:00 – 15:00. If anyone is interested in attending, contact Gayle Weston on 083 6545261.
