Happy Easter to all those who celebrate. To the holidaymakers, welcome to our piece of paradise. Hopefully, the weather is as kind as the locals.
A poem for the Green Team by John Phillips of Pennington:
Pennington’s green team
They pull the weeds, they clear the trail,
They patch the path; they mend the rail. They free the snared, they save the lost, And ask no praise nor count the cost.
Their voices rise not in lament, but like a scrub robin’s sweet content.
Their victories lie in every bloom,
In Nkomba’s shade, in nature’s zoo
Pennington, you lucky land,
Held gently in such caring hands.
A legacy not forged with noise,
But stitched quietly into our daily joys.
So, here’s to those who simply do, the faithful, fearless, precious few
The soul of Pennington, proud and true,
Who make the wild shine bright and new.
