The weather certainly had its ups and downs during the Easter weekend – and now we head into yet another long weekend. How lucky are those people who managed to take days in between and get a long break?
There was such a lovely feel-good story by Good Things Guy (Brent Lindeque) posted online over the weekend. He visited Pennington and ran into Tony Hoggins (83), a local resident who has been filling potholes in the area for over a decade – at his own cost.
Brent was blown away by Tony’s dedication to the cause and interviewed him.
He learnt that Tony goes around in a maroon bakkie, mixes cement and does the patching of the potholes. Tony is known in the area for doing this selfless work over the years, and now his inspiring story has reached an even greater audience.
Tony explained that he does not do this for recognition, but to rather see to his home town and fix something instead of waiting for it to be fixed.
