Several food items are needed for the soup kitchen in Scottburgh.

It’s the first paper for August, with four months until December.

Brent Coetsee is feeding the homeless every Thursday outside the Scott Street entrance to Scottburgh Bowling Club. He is performing a kind service. Donations of food are required. Contact Brent on 082-901-9762 if you can assist. Scotties Soup Kitchen donations can be taken to The Stone in Cordiner Street, where they will be cooked and given to Brent to hand out. The following items are needed: chicken, carrots, cabbage, garlic, sweet potatoes, onions, chicken-flavoured stock cubes, chicken giblets and rice. Please help as much as possible; this is such a good cause.

4 Paws and a Tale Rescue is holding a Women’s Day fundraising event with wors rolls and other yummy goodies for sale at 142 Scott Street, Scottburgh this Saturday (8th). For more information, contact Nicky Koekemoer on 084-626-5508. Donations of wors and rolls would be appreciated.

A Scottburgh Saps CPF special general meeting will be held at the Curtis Hall at the Blue Marlin Hotel on Thursday, August 13, from 16:00. The purpose of the meeting is to fill vacant positions of the CPF station executive. The public is encouraged to participate in strengthening the CPF and Saps to curb crime.

Tidy Towns Pennington is holding an open gardens night garden – get ready for an enchanting magical evening under the stars while supporting the beautification of the town. This will be at 38 Cherry Road, Pennington, on August 2, from 15:00 to 20:00. There will be an entertaining talk by Tanya Visser, a Blackwoods Nursery pop-up shop, a Tanya Visser pop-up shop, ceramics, and more. Purchase tickets at Post Script.
