Tuning In: Shout out to labour department’s Seymour

Welcome to February, which can be hotter than January.

This was received from Samantha Smith of Umkomaas: “I have come back from the labour department in Park Rynie. The place is terribly run down; windows are broken, and no maintenance has been done for years; however, this is my third time here and what a pleasure it has been.
The way this branch is run is wonderful; they are efficient and friendly, and they are kind and helpful. Now, I doubt this gentleman will ever see this message, but my shout-out goes to ‘Seymour’, who works for the Port Shepstone branch and comes here three times weekly. Seymour, you have single-handedly restored my faith in government employees. On three occasions, he could have turned me away due to issues with my paperwork and getting my dates wrong. He could have told me to come on the correct day when they deal with maternity documents. He helped me, knowing he will get flack for it from his supervisor for putting my paperwork through on the wrong day. He also saw me standing in the sun with my baby, so he got me a chair to sit in the shade. Your humanity, sir, has touched my heart. May God bless you. And may you always remain as sweet and kind as you are.”
