It takes place at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on October 1, and will feature big names such as Khuzani, Big Zulu, Ntencane, Igcokama, Phuzekhemesi and many more. The launch was held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on August 5, and it was attended by RNM speaker Zodwa Mzindle and Umuziwabantu Municipality mayor, Siboniso Zungu. Mkhungo said after last year’s successful inaugural event which was held in Harding, they are excited to once again host the event as they believe they are on the way to establishing a household event, that will become a part of the Ugu district’s culture for many years to come.

He added that the event will also feature artists from the South Coast who will make up 70% of the festival’s line-up. “When we hold events of this nature and magnitude, we always strive to ensure that the local members within the district benefit most through temporary job opportunities. This also extends to local suppliers, service providers and people who work in the community as well,” he said, adding that they started the music festival with the aim to embrace the African culture and heritage as Nguni people through art and crafts.
