Indigenous games return
The opening ceremony will start at 2pm and the closing ceremony will be on September 28 at 6pm.
The Indigenous Games are returning to the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre from Saturday, September 24.
The games will be hosted by the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation in collaboration with the KwaZulu-Natal Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, and Ugu District Municipality.

According to the department, the opening ceremony will start from 2pm and the closing ceremony will be on September 28 from 6pm.
The department said that pensioners probably enjoyed playing intonga, kho-kho, or jukskei when they were young, adding that it wants to ensure that these indigenous games are not lost, so that the current and future generations of children can enjoy playing them too.

Some of these indigenous games include Dibeke, Skununu, Kho-kho, Ntimo, Kgati, Ugqaphu, Diketo, Magave, Upuca, Jukskei, Ncuvu, Morula, Morabaraba, Intonga, Dibeke, or Skun.
On September 24, the games will start with a Dikalo match at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre from 8am until 4pm.
