Hip hop artist aims for greater heights
Madondo said he has faced many challenges in the music industry, saying that the one issue he comes across daily is playlisting his music on radio stations.
Hip Hop artist Njabulo Madondo better known as N.jay ibhoza has released a new song titled Qina.
Madondo, who featured Buhle Gwala and Lunar Keyng said the song is more of a motivation, saying that it acknowledges people who are doing everything possible to take care of their families, especially women.
He added that the song also motivates the youth to never give up on their dreams.
Madondo said the track is produced by Mthokozisi ‘MCM’ Msomi and DJ Makarina.
The Hip Hop head said his love for music started in 2012 when he was still back in high school.
“My passion for writing just came out of nowhere. I started writing poems and Hip Hop verses which I later recorded in 2012. I did both poetry and Hip Hop until 2014 where I decided to take my poetic skills and mix them with hip hop. And that is how I came up with the sound I’m doing right now,” he said.
He added that he has been getting positive feedback from places like the South Coast, Hluhluwe on the North Coast and Estcourt.
Madondo said he has faced many challenges in the music industry, saying that the one issue he comes across daily is playlisting his music on radio stations.
“To avoid disappointments, I take it one day at a time but I do believe that the message on my music is actually what we don’t have right now in mainstream media. So my goal is to reach greater heights in my music career. I think 2021 and 2022 have been some of the most productive years in my music career. The song I released before Qina, which was titled “Imnyaka” managed to get some airplay on Vuma FM, Inanda FM, Umoya FM, and Ligwa FM. Gagasi FM also played another song I’m featured on, so hopefully Qina will also reach that level or even more,” said Madondo.
