Two sentenced for robbery

The two men took cash and a cellphone before fleeing.

Two men, Nkanyiso Myalezo Tshapa (20) and Mthobisi Mxolisi Mdleko (23) were recently sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment for robbery.

According to Port Shepstone police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge a man was delivering bread to a tuck shop at KwaMbotho, in Harding on the morning of November 27, 2018 when two men held him up at gunpoint.
Mpinge said the men took cash and his cellphone and fled.

He added that a case of armed robbery was opened at SAPS Harding where detectives traced and arrested the two suspects, saying that the suspects were identified as they had robbed the complainant for the second time.

“The two accused, Nkanyiso Myalezo Tshapa and Mthobisi Mxolisi Mdleko recently appeared in the Harding Magistrate’s Court and were convicted. Each received 12 years’ imprisonment and were also declared unfit to possess a firearm,” said Mpinge.
