Umbango bridge revamped
One of the primary reasons for prioritizing bridge rehabilitation is to ensure public safety.

Maintenance efforts aim to prevent future deterioration, and this was achieved after Ray Nkonyeni Municipality recently revamped the Umbango River bridge.
The long overdue rehabilitation, which commenced about two months ago, was recently completed.
The bridge on Crescent Road was damaged on numerous occasions after heavy rains.
Gabion baskets have now been placed on both sides of the river as bank retainers.
The Herald contacted the municipality for comment, but none was received at the time of going to print.
