Sports legends unite for fundraiser
The co-founder of Tidy Towns, Stephen Herbst was also part of the panel during the Legends night.
Former rugby legends Adri Geldenhuys, Tabo Thomas, Joggie Jansen and others were invited to the second South Coast Legends night at the Margate Sports School recently.
It was organised by Herman Flemming and former Bok lock Vleis Visagie, and the event also saw the attendance of former legends in various sports, such as Helgard Muller, De Wet Ras, Tino Kankonski, Pat Symcox, Os Du Randt, Grorig Jamisom, Pierre Coetzer, Brian Mitchell, and Harold Volbrecht.
The evening also featured two-panel discussions and an auction.

Flemming said the success of last year’s dinner prompted the recent event. He added that the concept is not new, having been hugely popular in Springs for many years.
He said proceeds will be donated to former rugby legends who need financial support.
“The event serves as a fundraiser to assist former sports stars who may be in need of assistance. As always, rugby will be the main theme. Firstly, we want to honour our sporting and rugby legends. Further to this, our children and younger generations need to know who these legends were,” he said.
