Carnival for a cause
The event is to raise funds for Siyangamela Upliftment Centre in Ifafa.
An annual family fundraiser will be held at Ifafa Beach this Saturday (14th).
This event has been increasingly successful in raising funds for community initiatives for the past two years, and this will be the second time it will be hosted by the committee of Siyangamela Upliftment Centre, a non-profit organisation.
The theme is ‘Carnival for a Cause’ and will offer all the fun and exciting activities that families are looking for this festive season.
These include an interactive photo booth and games for both children and adults, along with jumping castles, a water slide and a candy cart.
There will be a market and a variety of delicious food stalls.
There will be music all day and cross-cultural dance entertainment, as well as superhero mascots for the children to enjoy.
With increasing attendance each year, coupled with a list of incredible prizes to be won, this year is anticipated to be the most successful in its public support and fundraising objectives.
Siyangamela Upliftment Centre is dedicated to establishing a youth skills development and trade training centre with a mission to enhance the marketability, employability and entrepreneurial capabilities of young individuals in Ifafa Beach and the surrounding communities of Ward 7.
This event is crucial for the centre in reaching its organisational objective of establishing a school for welding and steel fabrication, transfer of literacy and numeracy skills and the establishment of a hydroponic system for the teaching of modern farming methods.
There is also a raffle at R50 a ticket with fantastic prizes up for grabs. To purchase raffle tickets or to book a stall, call Peter on 076 5856678 or Natasha on 078 5132667.
