Branch ANCYL leaders elected

The newly elected ANC Youth League (ANCYL) leaders from Boboyi Ward 23 branch of Ray Nkonyeni Sub-Region under Tolomane Mnyayiza Region have thanked their members for a successful elective conference held at ABC Community Hall recently.

The new leadership also thanked its members for a constructive branch general meeting, which elected a branch executive committee structure (BEC).

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected ANC Youth League chairperson, Onke Mnyayiza, thanked the outgoing leadership.

“The meeting was a peaceful one, and it reflected a good spirit of comradeship, discipline and unity, which are key founding values of the ANCYL. Members also illustrated a proper understanding of our organisation by electing two women to form part of the official structure,” said Mnyayiza.

The new leadership structure is as follows: chairperson Onke Mnyayiza, deputy chairperson Zinhle Gumede, branch secretary Ayanda Sibiya, deputy secretary Dumisani Maluleka and branch treasurer Wendy Fyn.

Sibiya said the conference also elected additional members, Olwethu Khuzwayo, Minenhle Doyisa, Anele Ndlovu, Aphiwe Madebe, Mtholephi Ngcobo, Thobile Gumbi, Nkazi Gcaba and Nonku Shazi.

“We believe this BEC will take the interests of young people of Ward 23 forward and will grow the organisation, and hand it over back to its members in a much stronger position. The ANCYL has a responsibility to carry out its ‘twin tasks’ which is to champion the interests of young people and rally the youth behind the historic and current mission of the ANC,” said Sibiya.
