Education officials conduct walkabout
The Department of Education's monitoring delegation went to Gamalakhe Commercial High School's kitchen, staff room, mobile classrooms and interacted with Grade 8 learners.
Gamalakhe Commercial High School’s academic excellence is as a result of its impressive management style.
This sentiment is shared by the KZN Department of Education deputy director general for institutional development and support, Weziwe Hadebe, during a school functionality monitoring programme.
Hadebe, who conducted a walkabout at the school, was accompanied by the department’s Ugu acting district director, Nkosinathi Madadi, Gamalakhe Commercial principal Vusi Myeza, and other officials from the department.
The monitoring delegation went to the school’s kitchen, staff room, and mobile classrooms and interacted with Grade 8 learners.
Hadebe expressed her satisfaction with the school’s professionalism, cleanliness and overall infrastructural maintenance.
“Your academic excellence is because of the impressive management style of this school, well-done team Gamalakhe,” she said.
Meanwhile, to ensure that schools are ready for the 2025 academic year, walkabouts were done by officials of the KZN Department of Education in various parts of the province.
