Helping those with low vision

The non-profit group recently visited the coast.

The education team from Retina South Africa, a non-profit organisation, was in Umzumbe last week.

Mariska Raubenheimer from Sensory Solutions arrived at Summer Place in Umzumbe to run a series of workshops on updated knowledge regarding low vision – the largest disability in the country.

Retina South Africa is the only patient-led advocacy and support group for people with a wide range of retinal conditions.

Their goal is to ensure that all South Africans with these conditions have access to appropriate treatments and to empower people with low vision to be productive members of society through information-sharing, education, training, and counselling.
