Self-development training for young people

The 32 young people are undergoing training in plumbing, cookery, clothing manufacturing, and end-user computing at the Tolomane Mnyayiza Youth Development Skills Centre.

Young people training at the Tolomane Mnyayiza Youth Development Skills Centre in Boboyi were recently treated to a three-day camp at the Simangaliso Wetlands Park in Sodwana Bay on the KZN North Coast.

At the camp, 32 young people received tips on building self-awareness, personal growth, effective communication, having an entrepreneurial mindset, and innovation.

It also focused on psychosocial support, team-building, and recreational activities such as cultural events.

According to the centre, the purpose was to equip the youth with leadership and business skills in preparation for structured development programmes in partnership with Esayidi TVET College and the National Youth Development Agency.

They are currently undergoing training in plumbing, cookery, clothing manufacturing, and end-user computing at the centre.

The camp was organised by the KZN Department of Social Development through the youth directorate.

Several activities took place.
