Blue Ocean Aquatics bagged a healthy haul of medals at the recent SSA Level 2 Championship in Richards Bay, with 14 swimmers, in particular, doing exceptionally well.
The swimmers reaped 53 medals in total, comprising 13 gold, 21 silver and 19 bronze.
The club placed third overall out of 24 clubs, with the boys’ team coming first out of 21 clubs.
Relay teams won three silver medals, with the swimmers and supporters having a blast, cheering on their teammates.
Coach Mandy Koegelenberg was delighted with the results. “This is an outstanding achievement for a small club. The swimmers must be congratulated on a fantastic meet with lots of personal bests swum. It is wonderful to see all the hard work reap rewards,” she said.
