Ugu karateka shine at League One champs

The sport in the region continues to excel.

After a successful KSA National Championship, a group of Ugu karateka travelled to Bloemfontein recently to attend the KSA League One Championship for the year.

After completion of the national tournament and league event, the karateka receive ranking points, which will then be utilised for the selection of a national team that will represent South Africa at the upcoming AUSC Region Five Championship, which will be held in Durban at the end of May.

KSA Bloemfontein League results:

Ilhaam Amod – silver junior female kumite, bronze junior team kumite, 7th place female junior kata.

Drishti Duki – silver junior female kumite.

Chloe Ellis – bronze junior female kumite.

Neriah Peeriyalal – gold female kumite 10/11 yrs.

Tyrese Faro – silver individual cadet kumite, bronze cadet team kumite.

Miguel Gous – bronze cadet team kumite, 5th place individual cadet kumite.

Tyler Gous – silver 12/13 kumite, participation 12/13 kata.

Teiglon Fynn – gold junior team kumite, bronze junior male individual kumite.

Nimai Duki – participation male cadet kata.

The karateka are wished everything of the best for their upcoming selections and tournaments.
