Cyclist knocked down and killed

No arrests have been made.

A cyclist was knocked down on the R102 in Sea Park last Thursday.

Saps Ugu District Communication said the cyclist from Madlala area sustained injuries after he and a vehicle travelling north collided.

Glen Preston of Med-Evac said paramedics treated four people on the scene before taking them to medical facilities for further treatment.

The case will now be investigated as a culpable homicide as the victim died in hospital later that day.

A case of reckless and negligent driving was initially opened for investigation at Saps Southport.

Also in Sea Park, a man (58) was knocked down on Casuarina Road and died on the scene last Saturday afternoon.

Saps confirmed that no arrests have been made in both cases and investigations are ongoing.
