Clean up promotes healthy environment
Umuziwabantu Municipality mayor Siboniso Zungu urged residents to report illegal dumping and spread awareness about the importance of conserving the environment.

Siboniso Zungu, Umuziwabantu Municipality’s mayor, made the call during a clean up campaign last Friday.
According to the municipality, the clean up was an effort to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
The municipality said the clean up which was led by Zungu, aimed to educate, raise awareness and promote a cleaner and healthier environment for its residents.
“The campaign kicked off at Mazakhele phase 1. It was an effort driven by the municipality’s cleansing and maintenance unit working with council members, senior management, officials and the residents,” said Zungu.
The mayor urged residents to take responsibility for their environment by properly disposing waste, reporting illegal dumping and spreading awareness about the importance of conserving the environment.
“Umuziwabantu Municipality plans to continue and expand the campaign, to create a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment for everyone,” said Zungu.
