Norris crowned Monaco GP prince
Five points separates three teams in the battle for second place in the constructors' champs.
Lando Norris is the Grand Prix prince of Monaco. He drove brilliantly to win the difficult race that the streets of Monte Carlo always present.
It requires concentration and precision and the race is always unforgiving. Anyone who wins at Monaco deserves a princely medal.
The Ferraris also came to the party at the principality, with a much better performance this time around. Charles Leclerc was quick and good all weekend and really deserved his second position.
Lewis Hamilton was a bit unlucky with his penalty, but never gave up trying, to earn fifth position.
The McLarens were again top of the class.
Oscar Piastri, with his third place finish, put both of the Woking cars onto the podium and I expect them to again be the ones to beat next week in Barcelona.
It may rain in Spain, but it was completely dry in Monaco. However, this made the new format where all cars had a mandatory two-stop race with their separate tyre sessions an interesting challenge, but not quite a lottery.
Notable performances came from Max Verstappen in fourth spot, with the youthful, very fast Isack Hadjar, doing another great job for sixth place.
The Williams team was up there again this weekend, both in the top 10 with Alexander Albon just ahead of Carlos Sainz.
Mercedes had an unlucky weekend, and were below par for their potential. George Russell was 11th and Kimi Antonelli way down in 18th.
The McLaren drivers are now neck and neck with Piastri on 161 points and Norris 158 points. Verstappen follows in third, 22 points adrift of Norris.
