Learners benefit from shoe donation

The staff took the initiative to purchase the shoes and hand them over to the school principal, who appreciated the much-needed support.

Twenty one learners from Siphakamile Primary in Boboyi will start the next term with renewed confidence after receiving new school shoes.

Staff from the Ugu District Municipality Disaster, Fire and Rescue Management Centre used their own funds to purchase the shoes.

During an awareness campaign at the school, the acting general manager of corporate services, Makhosi Gobhozi and staff, discovered that some learners required new shoes.

The staff took the initiative to purchase the shoes and hand them over to the principal, Makoatle Keketso, who appreciated the much-needed support.

As winter approaches, the staff have subsequently pledged to donate school jerseys, thereby ensuring learners remain warm and focused on their studies.

An anti-bullying awareness programme was also conducted on the day of the handover.
