Suidkus Smulfees a festive affair

Mouthwatering food, from pancakes to braaivleis, shopping bargains and top-notch entertainment added to the festive atmosphere.

The 2025 Suidkus Smulfees, the popular NG Gemeente Port Shepstone’s annual fete, took place at Hoerskool Suid-Natal last Saturday.

Locals and visitors enjoyed good food, fun, shopped bargains and enjoyed top-notch entertainment, including a performance by a Scottish bagpipe band, which added to the festive atmosphere.

“Besides the many activities, the event also offered a platform for people from the broader South Coast faith community to associate and appreciate each other, ” said organisers.

“It is heartwarming to see so many people from different language, cultural and religious backgrounds sharing in the joy at this special occasion. We were also privileged to, in cooperation with the Suid-Natal Laerskool, entertain several needy families at the Suidkus Smulfees. The atmosphere was phenomenal, and the church is thankful for the expression of so much warmth, love, and appreciation at the Smulfees.”
