Finance advice for churches

KCOT has regional offices around the country.

Church leaders from KZN and the Eastern Cape attended a seminar on managing church finances, organised by the Kind Christian Outreach Trust (KCOT).

Attendees included alumni students from the trust plus church leaders from different denominations around the province.
The venue for the seminar was the Reformed Church Port Shepstone (Gereformeerde Kerk Suidkus).

Organiser Douwe Drijfhout explained that church leaders have expressed a need to be better equipped so that they can confidently take the lead in their communities and exert greater influence to the benefit of all.

“KCOT ensures that students can get easily accessible, affordable and high standard training,” he said.

Topics discussed included financial policies and procedures, managing risks, the role of church councils, pastors, finance committees, women societies, treasurers and auditors.

KCOT offers training through Mukhanyo Theological College (MTC) in KwaMhlanga (Mphumalanga) with regional offices in Durban, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Rustenburg and Cape Town.
