Sports and art programme showcases talent

The event at Nkanini Sports Complex featured activities such as soccer, indigenous games, aerobics, and cultural performances.

It was a talent showcase at the Isukile Programme Talent Search at the Nkanini Sports Complex in Umzumbe last Saturday.

Hosted by the KZN Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, MEC Mntomuhle Khawula described the programme as a platform to discover and develop local talent in sports and arts.

The event featured activities such as soccer, indigenous games, aerobics and cultural performances.

Seen at the event was the Umzumbe Municipality speaker of council, Simphiwe ‘Jika’ Mthethwa, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality deputy mayor Sibusiso Shange, and the chairperson of the Provincial House of Traditional and Khoi-san Leaders, Inkosi Phathisizwe Shinga.

Among those providing entertainment was the Mthwalume Brass Band from Gobhela Primary school, and Maskandi musician Sibusiso Mkhize, better known as Bahubhe.
